About the Recall: For over 70 years, the NUK® brand has been a trusted name in developing products that support the safe and healthy development of children. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada are voluntarily recalling NUK®-branded glass feeding bottles that were intended for sale in Europe and were unintentionally sold to consumers in the U.S. and Canada exclusively through third-party seller, Astir Care.

Who is Affected: Less than 100 U.S. consumers are impacted by this voluntary recall. Astir Care or Amazon will send you an email notification if you purchased the affected glass bottles.

What is the Issue: The glass bottle’s outside markings contain lead levels that exceed the U.S. federal lead content ban. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health issues. Our products are rigorously and routinely tested for consumer safety and are in full compliance with industry standards set by different global regions. The NUK glass feeding bottle shown below (First Choice Glass Bottle), was intended for sale in Europe and is compliant with European regulations (different than North American regulations). The U.S. tests and regulates for overall lead content levels on the bottle while the European Union tests and regulates for lead migration, meaning they test to make sure the lead stays put on the bottle, that it does not leach and cannot be absorbed during use.

Next Steps: We encourage U.S. consumers who purchased these bottles from Astir Care or Amazon to immediately stop using the bottles. Please follow these two steps to register for a kit to return the bottles for free.

  1. Verify that you have an affected bottle
  2. Request a return mailer to send your bottle back to NUK to receive a refund.

The CPSC and NUK® are requiring that the affected bottle be returned to eliminate any future exposure to the lead. Refunds will only be provided for affected bottles returned to NUK®.

Step 1: Verify your NUK® glass bottle is included in the recall

If your glass bottle is affected by the recall, it must meet all following requirements

  1. The bottle is GLASS and NOT plastic
  2. The bottle was purchased exclusively through
  3. The bottle’s outside markings are white and gray stars as shown below
  4. The NUK name is in white lettering
  5. The nipple is latex
  6. Volume size is 240 mL (approx. 8 ounces)

This recall is only for the glass bottle described above and sold by Amazon’s third-party seller, Astir Care. No other bottles are included in this recall.

Step 2: Request a return mailer to send your bottle back to receive a refund

If your bottle meets the requirements above, please complete the form below. You will be sent a return mailer so that you can return your bottle to NUK®. Once NUK® receives your bottle and verifies that it is included in the recall, a refund check will be sent to you.

Please allow for four weeks to receive the return mailer and, once the bottle is returned, 12-to-16 weeks to receive your refund check.
